Scope and Content: On October 22, 1954, the Rhode Island Development Council issued an Interim Report of their Hurricane Rehabilitation Study. This Report, prepared at the drection of Governor Roberts, deals with the weather characteristics of hurricanes, the extent of damage caused, and broad principles to be followed in development of our shore areas. Succeeding reports will detail various programs of action suggested in this report as regards specifiec areas and projects within the State. This summary of the Interim Report was first published in the Providence Evening Bulletin, and is reprinted through the courtesy of the Providence Journal-Bulletin Company.
